Just Like Bambi

Friday, May 3, 2013

I wore these shoes for the first time last year and I thought to myself, "Boy, it sure would hurt if I fell off of these things." And what did I do? I fell -- while crossing the street -- downtown -- in front of people. But, lucky for you, I've had a little practice wearing them. At least now I don't look like Bambi trying to walk on the ice for the first time. Happy Weekend!

DIY Floral Monogram

Monday, April 29, 2013

Here's a super-duper easy springtime craft -- my version of a DIY Floral Monogram.
This is one of my favorite DIY projects to date. Enjoy!
Step 1: Use metal straight edge and exacto-knife to cut off top layer of paper mache letter. I tried to leave about an 1/8 inch border. I purchased my letter at my local Joann craft store. (You'll notice a furry leg making an appearance in this photo! Apparently, someone else wanted to make a craft too.)
Step 2: Remove top layer of the letter and any filler paper inside.
Step 3: Spray paint letter in gold paint.
Step 4: Cut off ends of fake flowers. These will be hot glued to the moss in Step 6.
Step 5: Use hot glue to adhere moss to the inside of the paper mache letter.
Continue until the bottom of the letter is covered with moss.
Step 6: Use hot glue to adhere flowers to the moss. Glue fewer flowers to leave some moss showing, or glue more flowers to have a fuller look!

Ruffles on Ruffles

Monday, April 15, 2013

Ruffles on ruffles with a hint of peplum. Ahhh, music to my ears. And we know it must be spring because my toenails are painted. Woohoo! Now, time to break out the tan towels.
